We relish the opportunity to get together with our peers, especially Wedding Library members and partners. At the New York Magazine Weddings event today many of them will be there. To name a few, Amsale, Bride's Head Revisited, Ceci NY, Fleurs, Karen Cunningham, Milk & Honey, Ron Ben-Israel and Tejani. If you miss them at the event, come and see them at the Wedding Library. As an added bonus, Spark Stationery is offering a FREE 50 piece letterpress wedding suite to the winner of our raffle. Stop by just to enter!

Wedding Planner
The ladies from Evotive sent me a sample of their new wedding planning notebook, Be Wed. I like the environmentally friendly aspect of the guide, the modern casing and the elegant graphics. A disk with extra printable pages is always useful too. I think the pages for vendor comparisons a bit much, and some of these fill-in pages I personally would plug straight into a database (like a guest list), but overall, a cool and useful tool. I also like the overall organizational structure of "be prepared", "be inspired" and "be relaxed" that they devised. I suggest checking it out in person before purchasing, we have a review copy at the Wedding Library or they can be purchased on Amazon or at their web site. Happy Planning!!

Visit with the Dauphine
I'm hoping I'll soon be taught how to change image sizes for my blog, but in the meantime, click on the image for a large, clear and lovely invitation to visit the Wedding Library this weekend to learn all about Dauphine Press and the wonderful custom work they do.

Nautical Guest Books
I love paper in all forms, my affection is not just limited to stationery. So when Gillian Dewberry sent me a link to her gorgeous guestbooks, I was smitten. They're oversized (17X26), have a silk screened leather cover, and are hand-stitched. There are 50 pages with deckled edges and come in several ethereal, beachy themes. So for all you beach, destination, yacht, shellfish-loving brides out there, here's the guestbook or wedding journal for you.

Manhattan Marriage Bureau
The new Manhattan Marriage Bureau opened January 12 downtown at 141 Worth Street. It is just one block away from the old City Hall municipal building, where almost 70,000 people obtained licences and 15,000 people tied the knot at the Office of the City Clerk last year.
There's even a store that sells everything from $10 fresh flowers to $9 rhinestone wedding rings. Sounds like Las Vegas is redundant!
Other great improvements include the ability to fill our applications in advance and credit card payments rather than the old money order system. Viva marriage!

Bright Color Inspiration
Thought I'd wake you up on a snowy Monday! Here's a couple of shots from the WellWed event we spoke at recently -- the floral design almost seems inspired by the (totally unrelated) candy jar.
This table really sticks to some of our most basic tabletop rules.
1. Guests can see one another across the table.
2. The colors are varied but of the same color intensity and family.
3. The mirrors, glass and boxed linens seem modern.

These sour citrus would be a great cornerstone for a late-night candy bar for guests.

Wintery Cake Inspiration
We just received images from Roey Yohai of Elan Artists from the Wedding Party -- I didn't get to appreciate all the amazing things that were on hand that day. This photo of a cake by Ron Ben-Israel epitomizes a the cake I would have for a wintery belle epoque event at a French Chateau.
