Wedding Library Bridesmaids

We are proud to announce that Wedding Library Bridesmaids have entered the digital age! We've been busily, painstakingly, putting each of our dresses on line for easy reference and even for purchase! This is huge, because as we've discovered, we're the first to put these collections on line as a cohesive web destination. Little by little they'll all be there, but for now, check out the site. If you decide to purchase via the Internet, we'll even give you a 15% discount as a special gift for trying it out. (Until September 1).

Thread is delicious this season. Although we're jam packed for the Thread trunk show this weekend I thought I should at least mention how super-fabulous the dresses are. Brides.com thinks so too! And the lovely ladies from Thread will be on hand to answer all your questions.

If you are wondering why we're overflowing, wonder no more...

Kenneth Pool and Amsale Dress on the Big Screen

I am usually quite a sucker for a wedding film, and was even invited to a private sneak peek screening of When in Rome last night. Alas, my schedule was overly committed to, ugh, work. So I can report only the facts.
Our dresses are in the movie!! There are two styles featured: Kristen Bell wears an amazing jersey number and you can also see a favorite of mine in the film. A Kenneth Pool "Ava" gown and Amsale's "Tyler" gown were also scene stealers.

Amsale 2009 Crinkle Chiffon

Sometimes I see a product, trend or style and wonder, "why didn't someone think of that earlier"? Or, "wow, what an obvious improvement"! I had that moment when I saw these new dresses by Amsale. They are in crinkle chiffon. This fabric looks couture and chic; it's flattering and different -- not an easy achievement in the bridesmaid arena. Extremely wearable, I wasn't surprised that our trunk show this weekend is totally sold out! They'll be out this Spring, give the Wedding Library a call to find out when you can see them again...

Do Your Bridesmaids A Favor

Brides, do your friends a favor and bring them to our Amsale Bridesmaids Trunk Show weekend. It's going on Thursday, January 29-Sunday, February 1. Your maids will thank you when they see Amsale's brand new 2009 fabulous crinkle chiffon styles.

And to sweeten the pot, treat yourself to free airbrush makeovers from Bridal Gal. Tejani Jewelry will style your choices with their bridesmaid jewels and baubles. Don't forget to start with a great foundation with Blue Tux Shoes, (and our favorite Spanx). There'll be sweet treats by Billy's Bakery and Scratch Music will be our in-house DJ to get your maids in the mood.

Breaking News -- This Duo Will Be on the Style Network Show Tonight!

Weddings that carry through a theme or thread appear the most thoughtful and carefully planned. So we always try to carry a color, theme, motif or pattern through the various items that we coordinate for our clients. Here's a great example from a wedding we planned this summer. The bride loves the colors yellow and black together, and we helped her design a custom invitation and cake that pulled the two together.
The invitation was designed by Rebecca at Mr. Boddington's Studio to represent a concert ticket. Available at the Wedding Library. (Invite was also published in the current issue of New York Magazine Weddings.)

The cake was interpreted from the invitation proofs by the amazing Ron Ben-Israel. The monogram was made more vivid and ribbons that the bride chose were incorporated in fondant. Photographs by Karen Hill. Look for more ways that we pulled this wedding together in future posts.

Wedding Library Real Wedding

I promised some additional images of the wedding we coordinated this summer at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The colors were yellow, butter and black, the weather was amazing and the vendors were wonderful. Mr. Boddington's Studio created the invitations we designed, the cake was Ron Ben-Israel. The bells were found on-line and the silhouettes were created at the Wedding Library. The bride found the beautiful French, Italian and Swiss ribbons and wore Lanvin. Charles, Sally & Charles seamlessly cater and coordinate the services of the Garden and are always amazing to work with. The floral design was by the amazing Matthew Robbins of Artfool. The images are breathtaking and romantic, thanks to Karen Hill. The best part of all was the amazing couple whom I'm happy to call friends!

It's Right Here, In Black and White

Linda and I were looking at some beautiful new designs we received and noting that some of our favorite pieces are black and white. Not necessarily simple black ink on white paper, but invitations with strong graphics. We know that it takes a bold bride to incorporate these types of invitations into their wedding, but we're waiting for you!
