Pop Up Wedding Library in Brooklyn

We're so excited to be bringing the Wedding Library to Williamsburg for the month of June. Each week this month we'll be bringing our experts (invitations, dresses, photography/video, planning) to our Brooklyn Pop-Up Store to share products, vendors and inspiration with Brooklyn brides.

During the final week Martha Stewart Weddings will be styling the space as a chapel and a lucky couple will receive a wedding worth over $30,000 (including a 7-day Caribbean honeymoon!) Even if you don't win the all-expenses paid wedding, apply for the $500 Pop-Up Wedding -- you'll get Martha Stewart style, loads of gifts and Wedding Library assistance -- invaluable! Apply now!
For more information, check here often or on the Brooklyn Chapel web site. See you on Grand Street! Hours are Thursday-Sunday each week. 1pm-8pm.

Wedding Champagne

Champagne and sparkling wine are the classic wedding beverages, but few seem as appropriate as Iron Horse's Wedding Cuvee. The peachy pink wine is ideal as a wedding or engagement gift, and the perfect pour for your wedding toast.
Iron Horse Wedding Cuvée is a blanc de noirs style California sparkling wine, meaning the pale wine is made from dark skinned grapes - pinot noir in this case. The Cuvee has a hint of chardonnay with a soft richness and a hint of fruit at the end. I was just introduced to this bubbly -- with only 6,000 cases produced it seems a shame to drink it if you're not getting married!

Brides Cocktails at the Metropolitan Club Images

Here are some final, lovely images of our cocktail event courtesy of photographer Allan Zepeda. Thank you for posting and recording the event! Martha Stewart Weddings represented the media, Kostas of Floralies created this ethereal huppah and Ron Ben-Israel said let them eat cake (and served it to all).

The Wedding Library is Popping Up in Brooklyn

I love the pop-up shops that appear in an empty store front from time-to-time. There's the thrill of the temporary, the novel, of the unexpected -- it's a little shopping treat. So I was delighted when the masterminds behind 303 Grand, a revolving storefront in Williamsburg, invited us to create an experiential wedding showcase for the month of June.

Each week for four weeks we'll have different fun bridal activities, parties and showcases. On May 29 get ready for our launch party!

June 1-7 we'll have a stationery boutique open and ready for consultations. We'll feature custom invitations, boxed notes, gifts, favors and crafts from the crafty bridal designers in Brooklyn.

June 8-14 get ready for more bridal attire than you've ever seen in Brooklyn. We'll show established and up-and-coming designers gowns and bridesmaid dresses. We're also bringing you all the accessories, hair and makeup that will create your bridal look.

June 15-21 plan your destination wedding or honeymoon with our pop-up travel experts. We'll be unveiling great locations for your perfect get-away with lots of treats and surprises to make your planning a breeze.

June 22-30 is the time to find the perfect wedding vendors -- we're bringing the Wedding Library to you! We'll also be creating a fabulous pop-up chapel and opening it up for lucky couples to tie the knot. To find out more or apply to hold your nuptials with us check out the 303 web page on the event!
Interested vendors can email me at claudia@theweddinglibrary.com for more information about getting involved.

Four Weddings Viewing

Four Weddings and a Funeral is one of my all-time favorites, and if you haven't seen it, run to your Netflix account or take a friend and enjoy a complimentary screening at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. The film is showing on Sunday, May 24 at 6:30pm. They're also offering a prix-fixe dinner that makes this a perfect date opportunity.

My only warning is that this is movie may be better suited to a late night viewing in the privacy of your bedroom, with a glass of wine and a box of tissues....
SPOILER ALERT: The movie is full of funny and memorable lines. This excerpt is from a disasterous Best Man speech, very funny.

Charles: Ladies and gentlemen, l'm sorry to drag you from your desserts. There are just one or two little things I feel I should say, as best man. This is only the second time l've been a best man. I hope I did OK that time. The couple in question are at least still talking to me. Unfortunately, they're not actually talking to each other. The divorce came through a couple of months ago. But l'm assured it had absolutely nothing to do with me. Paula knew Piers had slept with her sister before I mentioned it in the speech. The fact that he'd slept with her mother came as a surprise, but I think was incidental to the nightmare of recrimination and violence that became their two-day marriage. Anyway, enough of that. My job today is to talk about Angus. There are no skeletons in his cupboard. Or so I thought. I'll come on to that in a minute. I would just like to say this. I am, as ever, in bewildered awe of anyone who makes this kind of commitment that Angus and Laura have made today. I know I couldn't do it and I think it's wonderful they can. So, back to Angus and those sheep.

Martha Stewart and Crane & Co.

We are excited to receive the news that Martha Stewart Stationery Weddings will debut in May via Cranes. There will be 24 invitation suites with new pieces available through engraving, thermography, letterpress, lithography and foil-stamping. As always, we'll be one of the first to have them in store, so come by in May to see the selection. In the meantime, here's a sneak-peek at a couple of options.
